However, every single one of them has a very established network of outsiders ready to go at the drop of a hat. They have car people. Food people. Furniture people. Clothing people. People to co-sign on houses. People ready to go with job offers for the family. You name it.

You were genuinely surprised. To be generally surprised isn't a very strong endorsement.
