I know PAC-12 fans are very timid in their support for their schools relative to other conferences, but this map really shows the distance fans and teams have to travel to get from one to the other. There are quite a few schools that are 1100+ miles away from each other. I think the SEC only has two - SC to A&M and UF to Mizzou are barely over 1,000.

The Pac8 made geographic sense, although there was some long hauls there too.

The PAC12 schools are in the most beautiful part of the country, so that's the trade off.
