I was thinking today, and I’m just speculating, that Ricks could be a player Saban was talking about with the “you need to take care of yourself and prepare yourself off the field”. I think he’s brought that lackluster former coaching with him and not buying in.

If so, he might be in for a long wait on the sidelines. It takes more than talent to see the field with Saban
