There are 130K schools in the US. How many retired cops and military would you need? Would you pay them? One football or baseball coach who hunts and understands guns, with access to one AR15 type weapon, is really all you need to deter 95% of the nonsense. Every community has that class of retirees. Pay? No. Volunteer? Yes. You would be surprised how many of both types would show interest. The biggest question out of all this will be can whoever is given the duty to protect actually do so? It’s not an easy thing to just grab your shite and roll when you are in a funnel (hallway or doorway).
