I wouldn’t call the 2013 IB luck. The DSOR that year was however. exactly, that was just a bad coaching decision by Saban.

First of all, luck is always part of the equation.

Second, DSOR, while Louis' catch was very lucky. However, no discussion of "luck" around that game would be complete without mentioning how lucky UGA was that there was not a replay camera on the other side of the field. Sorry, Dawg fans: Aaron Murray's knee was down.

Third, Iron Bowl, Auburn played the #1 team in the country to a tie for 59:59. That ain't luck. Had it gone to OT, I would have given Auburn at least a 60% chance of winning as they had the momentum and by far the better kicker.

I've said before and will say again, I have NEVER in my life seen a fanbase so frequently and so passionately bring up a supposed missed call in a game you WON. Also you can't irrefutably prove he was down either, any hinting at 100% undeniable proof is just speculation. What isn't speculation is that the hail mary shouldn't have even happened considering the raping of our DL on the pass:

but of course that isn't ever going to get called in that situation. The point is you can easily look at a call here or there and say it changed the outcome. But there is no debate that the end of that game was nothing but pure flat out luck. No way around it.

And I DO agree that the IB/kick 6 was NOT luck, I mean how can it be? It was a play that AU practiced and put specific personnel on the field for and executed to perfection. Improbable, unlikely, crazy, sure..but not lucky.

As I said...Don’t let those other auburn guys fool you. The stop on Murray required a face mask that went uncalled, which means it was should have been 1st and goal on the 1.
