rotated on Dline every series. I take it then that subs played almost as many snaps as starters.

all those subs should have put up legit numbers then?

this is what state lost on starting Dline
170 tkls - 18 sks - 22 tfl
sweat had 11.5 sks - nobody else had half that number
simmons had 15 tfl - nobody else had half that number

who's going to pick up the slack in '19?

returning numbers along Dline
77 tkls - 3.5 sks - 13.5 tfl

Who are the future 1st round picks off the two deep? If you are expecting freshmen to step in and make a major impact then state is in big trouble along Dline.

They have a projected "10". Of that 10, 8 of the expected to be drafted are from that defense. 2 leaving early.

But here is a list for you:

Noseguard/defensive tackle Lee Autry
Nickel Brian Cole
Cornerback Cameron Dantzler (early leave)
Linebacker Willie Gay
Safety Jaquarius Landrews
Defensive end Chauncey Rivers
Cornerback Maurice Smitherman
Linebacker Erroll Thompson

Of those, who will go round one? Who knows. Dak didn't go round one... and he turned out to be pretty damn good.

The fact is they have NFL talent on that defense. Like it or not.
