If so, what are the circumstances? Do you carry it sometimes or all the time? Do you carry it around town in broad daylight for instance when you're just sorta knockin' around or whatever? Or do you only open carry it at night or when you're in shady parts of town?

I live out in Montgomery, Texas, which is pretty rural. It's close enough to the city so that I can go in to town when I want, or just be out in the country away from it all. I've always enjoyed the Old West/Wild West history and fancy myself as someone who would have enjoyed being alive in that era of our country. Guns are an important aspect in our history and our constitution recognizes the importance of them by the second amendment.

I suppose around the house and in daily activities around my small town, I wear open carry because no one cares. It's just not a big deal and a lot of others do it as well. It's easier to get in and out of the truck and a lot more comfortable to wear. When I go into a bigger city where there are more people, I wear concealed carry. Like others have said, it only makes more sense from a tactical perspective. Your argument that you shouldn't need to wear a gun if you feel safe in a small town is a false argument. It's not for a specific threat, but there for the "just in case". In a small town area, I'm not expecting any type of situation, so I carry open and comfortable. In a bigger city, the threat is higher, so be more tactical and prepared by carrying concealed.

The reason for carrying a gun in the first place? Is because I can. I love that America allows it citizens to protect themselves and not be reliant on the government to do it. I'm the type of person that wants to protect my family and will gladly help others. I pray often that I never have to use it, but I would never be able to live with myself if that rare day came and I was unable to do anything to protect my life or the lives of those around me. So I stay prepared and vigilant.

I guess I do get a sense of pride knowing that our 2nd Amendment rights are unique in this world and I enjoy excising those rights. And if it happens to offend a liberal commie, all the better. But I will still use my rights to carry to protect that same American hating liberal if the situation presented itself.

But it's not a "false argument". There were about 30 thousand gun deaths last year and about 20 thousand were suicides. That leaves about 10 thousand homicides, the vast majority of which were committed in high crime urban areas through gang violence. In fact, gang violence in urban areas account for about 80% of all gun related homicides.

You can certainly open carry a gun in your rural texas town "just in case" and i'll buy meteor insurance "just in case".

You still open carry a gun even when your "not expecting any type of situation"?

Ok.

2013 to 2017 montgomery texas has had.....

Zero murders
Five rapes
Four robberies
Nineteen assaults

The population is about a thousand people.

How "prepared and vigilant" do you really need to be in Montgomery texas? Nothing happens there.

Oh and i'm perfectly fine with anyone open carrying a pistol. I don't care. I'm just waiting for someone to cough up a good reason for doing it.

"Because i can" is a social/politcal statement. It's the same reason these "commie liberals" you speak of burn the flag. They do it "because they can". I guess "because i can" is a good enough reason to exercise any right we have.

I'm good with that i guess.
