...and that keeps the pattern, going back to the early '80s that we make a run at the SEC every 5-7 years and a realistic run at MNC 9-10 years, with some deep valleys in between. All things considered (strength of conference, difficulty of schedule, geographic location in regards to recruiting, never getting a fair-shake from most sports writers in the state, 80% of the state's population hate the program, etc.) that's not bad. 85% of the programs in the country would take those stats in a heartbeat.
