When it comes to stadiums bigger is not better, better is better. Improve the seating, the restrooms, the food... serve a smaller number of people in a more enjoyable atmosphere.
College football pulled a China on stadiums. We over built the demand drastically.

I definitely think the trend now is increasing premium amenities at the expense of capacity.
No school needs 100k+ capacity for every game. I think when you see schools like LSU, Bama, and Tennessee announce the next rounds of stadium renovations, it's going to bring their overall capacities down.
And apparently some schools in the SEC need to bring their capacities way down...
