I'm watching some of his old press conferences. I think he's going to recruit very well. He's a straight shooter, but he has some humor too. He's a likable guy.

Isn’t Watford committing tonight?
Will this be enough to sway him here?

How much do you think the lack of effort by the team bothered Byrne. From what I've read, Oats is a complete opposite of Avery

I think it’s the main reason he was fired

That & all those empty seats last Tuesday. Not a good sign moving forward.

-- In a January profile in The Athletic, Oats explained his recruiting outlook while saying he had 18 Division players as a high school coach. “I got to see really good recruiters come in that were really personable, great people,” Oats told reporter Brian Hamilton. “I got to see arrogant pricks come in, and I never wanted to be that guy. I got to see the guys that come in, they kiss my butt as the head coach and ignore my assistants and act like they weren’t even there, weren’t human beings. Well, that doesn’t work either because my assistants are working those kids out every day.”

He is encouraging the others to leave it seems like from a couple Instagram pics. shite seems personal.

I think that's what accelerated the firing of Avery. The results were bad, but I think he would've gotten another year if his team actually looked like they gave two shits. You can live with close loses & barely missing the tourney if it looks like your guys gave maximum effort. But it never did.
But I'm excited about having a hungry up-and-coming coach now, that's going to come in and work his arse off. I've already got my t-shirts printed. #OatsBlokes

Is it me or does it seem like the BasketBall rivalry between AU/Bama is starting to get more intense than the FB rivalry? I think Saban has broke all the barners

Sounds to mee like Dazon was bitching in the locker room and to teammates about being ready to leave. With an attitude like that in our locker room I can see why we melted down.

What are y'all talking about? I'm bad at Twitter, but I don't see any tweets from him in the past couple of days.

Count me in as excited. Keep in mind the offense he had at Buffalo and what we've been seeing since Gottfried got caught in Ol' Colony.
-Fifth best scoring offense statistically in the NCAA
-17th best in Assist-Turnover ratio (Alabama was 275th)
-15th in assist per game
-22nd in offensive rebounds per game
-31st in 3-point FGs per game
-71st in FG%
I know mid-majors are usually a big gamble, but I really trust Byrne if he thinks Oats is a solid coach.
