Hunt breaks down decision to join Alabama (BamaOnLine)

Alabama may have found a hidden gem in the 2019 signing class with Richard Hunt. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound tight end from Memphis (TN) Briarcrest Christian committed to the Crimson Tide Sunday evening on a preferred walk-on offer, choosing Bama over other preferred walk-on offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and LSU.
The interest sparked between the two parties after Nick Saban stopped in at Briarcrest during the Contact Period to see underclassmen and was introduced to Hunt. Shortly thereafter Alabama extended an offer.
Hunt was still playing basketball at the time and couldn’t make it down to Tuscaloosa until this past weekend. It didn’t take long for him to come to his decision once on campus. “It feels wonderful,” Hunt told BamaOnLine of coming to his decision.
