Two Weeks Later - A Short Story

It was two weeks ago we witnessed the greatest game in the history of football. A game that both created a dynasty, and destroyed an imaginary one... The #2 Clemson Tigers faced the #1 Alabama Crimpson Tide for all the marbles.

The Tide came in as a huge favorite, and the world was picking them to win it all. Instead, what we witnessed, was the 2nd biggest beatdown in a national title during the BCS/Playoff era. An emasculating arse kicking that will be talked about for generations to come. 44-16.

Two weeks later, Tuscaloosa and College Station are still in shambles. Players and coaches alike are abandoning the once proud program, as rats abandon a sinking ship.

Today, Nick Sabans sits in his office all alone (with Butch). Tears billowing in his eyes, he looks up, and with a broken voice he asks “Where is Dan?”....

Dan is gone, Nick.
Just like the Tide.
Dan... is gone.
