Consider we all knew Bama was replacing 5 starters at DB, Scott did a good job.

He lost his most experienced CB after Arkansas, had a JuCo transfer who was all athletic ability(who later quit on the team in the NC game), and a true freshman who did pretty damn good.

Thompson started hot then cooled, same with McKinney. This day and age, more specialty coaching is occurring, especially with more assistants allowed.

These hires definitely fit the narrative Saban has laid out about wanting more personal coaches...
