I've been to enough hate sites (sociology/deviance/hate groups) to know that there's no way you can over-exaggerate them. It's flat out impossible.

However, assuming that it was just some dude and that he's not really racist, the impact and harm of his actions are still the same. He sent an anonymous hate-filled letter to an interracial couple and black coach. They don't have the luxury of assuming it,s fake. They have to assume that their entire family is being targeted for a hate filled tirade by a racist lunatic and worry about the safety of their family/kids.
