The series is even since 1971 essentially when A&M began allowing women to enroll and stopped being the equivalent of The Citadel.

I'm fine with renewing the rivalry as long as it is an early season game. If we never play them again though I could care less. The SEC is 1000X better than the Big Dumpster Fire. Personally I don't think anything is going to happen unless A&M stops playing Arkie in Dallas and it makes it easier to add the home and home series and keep 7 home games at Kyle minimum (4 SEC, 2 buyout, H&H with Texas, H&H with other Power 5). Just too much money to leave on the table as it currently stands.

Texas just has to be excited that they may finally be good enough that you won't be able to scalp tickets for the price of a Happy Meal outside the stadium.
