The state of our athletics is pretty dismal

Not sure I could disagree more tbh. Basketball is good, baseball looking better, and football is slowly getting better. It’s obvious we are paying croots again. Hell even golf seems to be doing pretty well.

Women’s sports doing alright with Ralph and Karen leading the softvols, looks like womerns basketball finna make an elite hire. I think i remember seeing T&F coach is doing a solid job.

The Battle Captain is turning things around overall.

Part of why I said that has to do with my mood right after that game, so I'll take that back to an extent.

Being a young guy and seeing the Vols do badly for so much of my life has taken a toll on my optimism. I'm sorry to be so negative, but deep down, I still believe our athletics aren't what they should be if you consider the amount of money our department has. To increase my faith in our AD, I will have to see a better product in Neyland first. I'm sorry, but there is zero excuse to be losing to Vanderbilt and getting blown out by Missouri. I really hope Pruitt has those boys ready in the fall; maybe we just needed to purge the Lyle scrubs first.

On the other side of the coin, Tennessee basketball has been great this century. It's disappointing when we have been robbed of advancing in the NCAAT twice in the past five years, but this program has some flippin' resolve. We have been through quite a bit with the falling out of Pearl and Tyndall, but we always come back swinging. I think we are a definite top 5 basketball program in the SEC going forward.
