More people watched the League of Legends World Championship than watched the College Football National Championship.
More people will watch a Fortnite stream than will watch a college football game in 2019.
College football, and other sports media is in for a world of hurt fairly soon. College football is uniquely positioned to weather the storm because there are 130 teams and there is a vast amount of infrastructure in place, from flexible out of conference scheduling to bowl games.
Unfortutunately, college football will undermine itself. It will expand the playoff to 8, undermine the non-playoff bowl games even further, minimize the G5 and diminish out of conference scheduling.
