The problem is that is the exact situation you compared it to - this isn't "insecure Bama fans" causing people to react this way - it is a comparison to a specific situation which, based on current trends, seems extremely unlikely to follow suit.
The Bama vs. Florida '09 was just a bad example. Accept it and move on.
