Virginia Tech finished 7-6, but they were 6-6 before their bowl.

We lost to Ole Miss back in 2014. That team wasn't close to being unstoppable.

Also, if Ohio State does get in, they'll have the biggest loss margin (29 points to Purdue) of any team to ever make the playoffs.
