Dumbass. Bryant tried yo integrate for years prior and the political climate in the state because of the racism of others prevented him from doing so.

That game was scheduled for a reason. Alabama was coming off a shitty season and had no chance to beat USC. Bryant wasn't a dumb racist. He was the exact opposite. He knew they'd probably get their was kicked at home by a superior and integrated team and that would help the push to integrate his teams.

Was this some civil rights do it for the right thing deal? No. He wanted to win. But it's not like he was a racist that didn't realize this year's earlier.
