The above is untrue.

Bryant had a Black player on his team before they played USC in 1970.
Wilbur Jackson was a freshman in 1970 and couldn't play until 1971
In 1971 both Wilbur Jackson and John Mitchell(Juco Transfer) started at Alabama.

Bryant Offered Mitchell a full time coaching position on his staff in 1973.
