I know it sounds stupid, but you could tell he was actually, you know, coaching.

How many seasons since 2009 has it felt like we run the same players out and see the same shitty gameplans, the same penalties, the same problems in execution?

2018 was a different (usually better) team every week. They played well versus rivals and in big games, we saw improvement at every position group. These are things we should take for granted but just didn't happen under several previous regimes.

Mullen will probably lose out to Stoops for SEC COTY, but any other year he would probably win it.

Digest this: when is the last time since Tebow left that we have had a QB throw for 23 TDs and just 6 picks ?? Answer? We haven't. Our run game has been solid and his staff have done a good job overall.

He has had an approach to coaching a new team that had the team buy in early after he arrived. He doesn't scream all the time and realized the athletes at UF needed a role model that they trusted. He has an acute sense of humor that make players relate and relieves stress. On the football side he demonstrated the ability to gameplan and improvise during crunch time.

Stoops obviously had a team that was tough as he was. He did kind of sneak up on teams early...but he steered them through tough waters. Next year? UK loses a lot of important seniors and will be interesting to see how well he does.

Just checked and UK loses all FIVE DBs who started. Josh Allen, Denzel Ware & Jordan Jones all gone at LBer.
