Possibly the Lake Cumberland area of KY or northern Arkansas. Somewhere more seasonal than deep south GA where I’ve lived my whole life, but still relatively rural.

There are a number of nice small towns in NW Arkansas that are close enough to the Ozarkopolis of Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville area that you could have a fairly short commute to work.
One of the better benefits of NW Arkansas is that its easy to enjoy a rural lifestyle while still being next door to a thriving town.
I've never been to the Lake Cumberland area of Kentucky but I've heard very good things about it.
