I agree with you. We are discussing a guy who waited 2 years for a defunct football program to begin again instead of transitioning elsewhere when I’m sure he had plenty of opportunity. He’s got a fantastic setup now and has no reason to leave

$$$, better recruiting, better facilities, much bigger stage, more prestige.

You are crazy if you think any non-P5 coach wouldn't jump at the chance to take the HC Auburn job.

I think he leaves, but not before establishing himself as the next premier P5 coaching candidate. And I don’t think he’d cash in that chip to coach somewhere unstable where he’d get a fraction of the previous coach’s salary.

If we can Gus this off season we’re looking at something like Paul Rhodes. Some position coach with previous HC experience to become a filler until a few years pass and a top HC becomes available.
