Something to think about.
SEC QBR after week 4
Tua , Ta'amu & Fromm are top 3 QBs
4) Franks QBR 155.72
5) Lock QBR 149.74
6) Mond 144.90
7) Bentley 144.54
8) Guarantano 144.27
9) Stidham 133.21
10)Shurmur 131.74
11)Fitzgerald 119.66
12)Wilson 118.48
13)Burrow 116.32
And I believe Cole of Arkansas was 14th with poor QBR
Franks and Tua are top ten in the country with 12 TDs each

Yep. But don't confuse yourself. Trask would have 15 TDs and have the number one QBR. Doing it right Straws?

To be fair that rating is really buoyed up by the CSU game where Franks had a 212.1 QBR.
He was bad in the Kentucky game aside from the one long drive and was good enough against Tennessee. Definitely showing signs of improvement, and I hope it continues, because we'll need a strong game from Franks to win in Starkville.

Agreed.
If someone can't admit he is improving..it's just ridiculous. Anyone claiming he is elite is ridiculous too.
Guy right now is a middle of the road Sec QB.
Last year he was the worst in the conference.
That's decent progress.
Add in we don't do many screens, HB releases for short throws, etc. He'd have a significantly better percentage with more short throws.
I suspect we don't throw it short so defenses are forced to stay back against the run. Only real reason I can think of for us doing mid to long throws more than short and easy.

Again his numbers are with an offense that doesn't have many snaps during games and in truth it works well for us. The defense/special teams have given us short fields and I think if we looked the numbers...it would prove our scoring drives don't take long. It hasn't seemed to wear the defense yet...as we do rotate a lot of guys in.
The bottom line is the Ws. It will be extremely hard tomorrow night to leave with a W. Of course if we lose, I know a few folk that are kneejerkers and someone else in the Trask camp
that will blame Franks 110% for the loss no matter what.

If the team plays well, Franks should be OK. I don't think he will be the weak link this year. I still think the OL is the weak link. The defensive front 7 is 10x better since Reese and Cece have come back. I knew they were important but WOW I didn't know they were that important.
Franks isn't good enough to win a game behind a bad OL on the road.
But if the team plays well (really the OL especially), I assume he will play well enough not to lose the game this week.
I just think the OL is going to fold, and then he will fold right after that happens.

OL is ranked 7th in the SEC. we can hardly run up the middle at all. No push

The Franks hater will not change his mind no matter what Franks does . Franks could be a lot better but he is trying to learn a new offense just like the rest of the team that’s also struggling. The offense in general needs to improve at every position.

I think Mullen is doing a great job teaching Franks and who knows? He might shine tomorrow night if he can get enough time to deliver...or run for a few first downs. Mullen will probably play it close to the vest...which means Im wrong and its bombs away
Id rather Franks only throw 15 passes cause that means we are controlling the game...35 passes will mean we are behind and desperate most likely.
We are walking into a hornets nest with MSU's back to the wall and determined not to lose two SEC games and fall to 0-2 in the SEC west. It will take everything we have to avoid losing...the defense and special teams have to win it for us with short fields.
