Burt was great.
One of my favorite anecdotes about him arose from Boogie Nights, for which he was nominated Best Supporting Actor.
Before that, during shooting and afterward, he was incensed for having signed on to be in what he considered a horrible movie. Clearly, Burt knew horrible movies as he'd starred in a number of them. But the one he KNEW to be horrible got him nominated for an Academy Award.
He was also quite the hothead on The Tonight Show, etc. Burt was certainly a one of a kind and clipped all sorts of tail back in the day.
RIP.

I mean boogie nights had no right to be as good as it wound up being. Just reading the script you would think it would be an absolute stinker
