I understand why many on this site point to his below average stats against ranked opponents. I get it. He hasn’t been good against most ranked opponents he’s played against.

But then people forget that Mizzou recruits like garbage and has Barry Odom as head coach. Kid is throwing to 3 star WRs that only got offered by Rutgers and his defense is littered with fringe 3 stars who wouldn’t make the squad at Baylor. Joking aside, his supporting cast on both sides of the ball is trash yet he’s shown he’s an elite player.

He’s a great talent that many trash without taking into consideration the players he’s working with.

I never really like Josh Heupel's air raid offense to a point. Why did OU fired him as their OC there? He was not that good. Point is he could not get the offense going against good teams that have great defense. Misouri is not going to ignor the air raid offense completely. The new OC will try to make sure the defense is not going to be able to stop Missouri to keep moving the ball on every series Missouri gets on the offense. THat is the difference maker between Heupel's offense and Dooley's offense. I have high expectation that Missouri will play better on offense this year against better defensive teams. Also the defense did hurt Missouri earlier of the season that messed up everything. Took time to make adjustments. This time around should be a lot better. Barry Odom have learned and have made adjustments from year one to year two. Now in year three should see a much improved offense that will be better against good teams that have good defense. I have seen the improvements. That is one way you can judge a head coach for the next year. Also based on returning key players for this year.
