So, is Caldwell to Chavis, what Pittman is the Chaney?

Yes, opposite sides of the field, etc...

But looking a bit at how Chavis did in the past, Caldwell was with him in the most successful years.. .right?

Caldwell wasn't with him at TAMU, or LSU I don't think.

Just a thought.

It's not like the DLs that Chavis had weren't good at LSU and aTm

If anything to reinforces the idea that Caldwell is some type of d-line guru. That Coach Caldwell understands how to teach techniques that fit Chavis' scheme.

This was my point. They sure enjoy working together.

Some coaches mesh well together. Both professionally and personally. Pittman and Chaney get along great and Pittman gets what Chaney wants to do on offense... even if it is run a double reverse inside the five yard line.

Caldwell gets what Chavis wants to do on defense. We seem to have some legit NFL level talent on our D-Line right now and they have the potential to be very disruptive.

My concern is depth behind the starters because with our new offensive system our defense is going to be on the field a lot.

At least it will be different then the "Bend and then break" style we've been running the last few years. If I had to watch another year of giving 10 yard cushions to WRs on 3rd and 3 I'd have probably had a stroke.

To teams with bubble screen as their primary pass.

It was such a pain in the arse to watch. We show blitz on the slot side, 10 yard cushion playing outside shoulder. They either throw the bubble or run a 5 yard slant on the slot.

Cheney and Pittman meshed real well together at the Golden Corral between the hours of 11:00 and 3:00
