Conner Noland
John Stephen Jones
Both are proven winners, which one emerges as the #1?

Jefferson or someone in 2020.
With the 4 game redshirt opportunity we could see three or four QBs take a snap in 2018.

I know he isn't going to be the favorite but for some reason I really think this kid is going to make an impact at some point.

I think they both will get some snaps in the first couple of games this year. If CK and Ty both stink running the offense we might very well see one of them as the starting QB before the end of the season... but I think our staff is very loathe to burn a redshirt season for two QBs who should be the future of the program.
Noland is the more heralded player I'd say, but he might decide to concentrate on his baseball career.

I do not know where I stand as a talent evaluator (probably dogshit tier), but I don't see Noland as some guy to take us to another level. I've watched the guy play, as I live in Greenwood, but I didn't get a huge D-1 superstar feeling from him.
Greenwood runs a nice offensive scheme for high school and it fits well with a RPO type offense at the next level. If Morris requires him to make a lot of reads then he will be a work in progress I feel. Most of the time Greenwood just out worked and out talented the other teams. He hasn't been required to win the games by himself much.

Morris’ offense only has the QB read half the field from a passing standpoint so it’s not as complex as Petrino’s or Enos’ systems would have been. The trick is getting the RPO and speed aspects down.

We will see, maybe the system will mask those problems but that is a concern.
I think two things work against Noland.
One, he has a legit shot at a very nice pro baseball career based on his pitching. If he concentrates on that while he is at Arkansas there is a good chance he has a huge paycheck waiting for him from MLB.
Two, while Connor is a tremendous athlete JSJ seems to have that jitterbug ability to extend plays for a ludicrous amount of time. If our O-Line is hammered dog shite this year Jones' ability to evade pressure might push him to the forefront.
One big thing Noland has going for him... that kid can make any throw on the field whether he's standing in the pocket or on the move. He flicks a 50 yard pass down field like its nothing.

Jefferson is the QB of the future. Whoever plays this year is a fill in until Jefferson gets here.
