This is the 2019 class and according to Street and Smith. California only had 7. Texas had about 5 or so. Florida had like 4 or 5 and Louisiana had 4 or so. Alabama had 3 and Miss a couple. Zero competition for Dawgs in state and they play in the east where they went 6-0 but only broke even (2-2) in games vs SEC west schools. But the biggest thing is they are in a football mad state with the biggest black population in America.

I suspect things are going to get more interesting for Kirby with the new coaches coming in but they still should easily dominate the east. And the Vols, Gators and Cocks are like a one legged man in an azz kicking contest right now as far as matching up in talent. So Kirby needs to strike while it is easy and run off a couple of national titles.

BTW counting IMG academy in Florida which is kids from southeast there may have been only a dozen or so position players outside of the N.C to Texas southeast to Texas corridor which is most of the nation. And that includes the 7 from California. Crazy.

And for the good of CFB and both programs UGA needs to do a long term home and home with Clemson. Can you imagine the interest with a matchup of the two all world QB's from Ga H/S's in Fields and Lawrence I believe. Alabama vs Clemson gave CFB a boost for 2 years then Bama got really focused on the Tigers and humiliated them this year. Which almost cost them the natty since they were flat for a half vs a fired up UGA. Dawgs are big boys now and need to step up and put their big boy britches on. The ND thing was interesting but do the Clemson stuff. They are likely still a little gun shy but beating OU and ND in the same year should put some pep in their step. They have got the players, certainly the coaches and the fans would love it. Time for the Georgia admin to cop a "Stone Cold" attitude and play ball in the big arena.

as i said earlier, the future is bright for UGA. the recruits we have lined up for the next few years - it speaks for itself. with Kirby it's just going to keep getting better.

Is this a "roll the football out on the field" thread?

Let's see: beat MSU, beat AU, lost to AU, lost to Bama. 2 up and 2 down. What am I missing? 2-2.

If only teams could recruit inside their own state we would be golden. Are you willing to state that teams have to stay within their own state and cannot recruit outside?

You act like nobody else can recruit in Georgia. A lot of posters seem to think that, for some reason. You all ignore the realities of recruiting in the modern age. Alabama gets recruits from all over the country, and so does Georgia. Most really god schools do.

ETA
That said... we are recruiting much better and getting some players that would/might have gone elsewhere in the past. Didn't mean to insinuate we are losing a lot of recruiting battles in state right now.

How exactly does it benefit UGA to play Clemson home and home?Who exactly did Bama go home and home with OOC
the last 10 years?

No, I act like reality. 80% (at least) of the best high school players in Georgia are gonna go UGA. The guys Georgia really wants. If they really, really $want$ them it's likely close to 100%. The alums and coaches ain't gonna go for anything less. AU is gonna hang around and pull a "miracle" along and so will Clemson. And occasionally some kid whose parents moved to Ga from some other state will go back there. Clemson got the QB this year because both guys (he and Fields) were not going to the same school, plus qb's are different.

When you see someone go a different direction it is one of the reasons I just stated, mostly because UGA has someone else they like better or ain't all that "shot in the azz" over the guy because of attitude or something.

Clemson, auburn, and Bama offer some strong recruiting competition in the state of ga.

Winning a national title will never be easy with them, Ohio state, ou, and potentially Texas going forward.

Clemson and uga don’t have room for a home and home any time soon. I would be just fine meeting them in a playoff.

Bama has taken on all comers in the season preview, premier games. Now folks are going back to home and home because of the fan demand. So UA has stepped up and scheduled Texas and Notre Dame. Clemson is a natural for UGA, next door and the game has a major, major history! Got it? Next question....

Read my post above. I just ran it down like Royal Crown. Anything less than what I just posted is horse shat. Georgia for the most part, about 100% last year, under Kirby will get who they want. AU got D Brown because they took advantage of the transition. CU got the qb because QB's are different and Fields, Fromm. Georgia rules Georgia, unlike any other place. LSU is closest thing in SEC (with less than 40% of the population) but the fans there are not united and pizz and moan too much. And the state is broke. Georgia is shoving shat at Kirby.

I read your post and I pointed out it’s flaws. In state loyalty isn’t as big of a thing in the state of Georgia as you think. Some in state kids simply don’t want to go to uga and they have some excellent choices out of state. Others might value PT more. Auburn is getting 2 five stars in this class for reasons like that.

Right now that is true. A few years ago, it was more like 60%. Now, if you say 60%, then LSU who also has no instate recruiting rivals and most of their kids stay home, then they would have had the advantage. fewer out of state teams go into Louisiana than Georgia, I would guess.

We really, really wanted Owen Pappoe and lost him to Auburn, so.....We also really, really want Travon Walker and could lose him. We couldn't even get into the conversation much with Andrew Booth.

Which covers a TON of kids. Myles Hinton is already going back to michigan from last year. I mean, now you are talking about a healthy number of kids thta moved in...Auburn and Clemson (Both of whom recruit heavily in Georgia). Add in FSU, Florida, South Carolina has pulled several the last couple of years
(Josh Vann, Dylan Wonnum, Jaycee Horn, Kingsley Engabare, Jamyest Williams, and MJ Webb were all 4* that came out of Georgia.)

Should I do Clemson?
Trevor Lawrence, Kyler McMichael,Justin Mascoll, Lyn-J Dixon,Joseph Charleston, AJ Terrell,LeAnthony Williams all went to Clemson and were 4* or better. That is two schools that came in. We got a ton, no doubt, but it's not like all that talent stays in the state.

Absolutely. Auburn pulled 6 4* last year, and already have 4 4* and a 5* committed this cycle....with Andrew Booth (5*) probably committing to them soon.

And I acknowledged those things by saying 80%/close to/etc. And again one of the factors in close to is a lack of immediate PT. Hell of a problem to have, a 5 star is nervous because we recruited two five stars as good as him last year. Georgia is running downhill with a jet stream @ their backs. Richt managed to frick it up, So far Kirby has done the opposite. Saban has openly called Georgia the best job in America because it is. The Dawgs just never let their nut sacks drop, but now it appears they are, but that won't do totally til they step up and improve their out of SEC schedules. They can't help they were playing the SEC versions of the "Little Sisters of the Poor" inside the SEC east, but don't now Stone Cold time has arrived!

There is no argument that we are in a much better place than we were 3 years ago, no doubt. I just don't think it is quite as a slam dunk as many think.

While we realize or at least hope we have turned the corner, we are still hurting over the 1980 thing, and will probably have battered program syndrome for awhile.

Auburn did not get a player last year Georgia really was hot for out of Georgia. Sure, all coaches would "like to have" a lot of players they have to pass on. And yes as I made allowance for, some guys (damn few in Georgia's case) will go elsewhere for immediate PT. And AU is a first class pain in the azz. They won't quit! LOL! Like the guy hanging around for you to have a major falling out with the wife or GF. And sometimes things are not exactly what they appear.

Kirby will try to deflect and so forth but he just went to football heaven for a cut throat son of a gun, which he is, and brought a bunch of cut throats from UA with him. Now win it all Kirby. Best players, school admin (state too) has went straight to whoring, and you are in the EAST!

Even more reason to love how easy it is in Georgia! These schools are over there waiting on UGA to slow walk guys! LOL! Michigan, Ohio St, UF, AU, LSU, Clemson, even the mighty freaking Crimson Tide hangs out over there looking for some guys UGA ain't all that hot over. Ain't working as well as in the past. UGA is making a second run through on kids talking seriously to UA for two reasons: what have we missed and hey we've got room so let's take this guy and put UA behind the 8-ball. LOL! They, and a couple more schools, helped put the hammer down on Alabama
last year. Fair enough. That's the way it goes, first your money then your clothes. As Danny Ford said when asked if he felt sorry for a coach: "feel sorry, these damn guys are making millions".....well put, Danny.

True. But they already have a 5* this year (Pappoe) with another one coming up, probably.(Booth)

Being in the East is nice, no doubt. But we still have to play the champion from the west to win the SEC or play in the playoffs. They are going to do their dead level best to keep two schools from the same conference out of the playoffs again.
