2018: 5-7 maybe 6-6 with an outside shot at 7-5. (Struggle mightily)
2019: 6-6 maybe 7-5 (struggle but improving)
2020: 7-5 maybe 8-4 (continued improvement)
2021: 8-4 maybe 9-3 (corner is turned)

If this is his record at Florida in year 4 he will be shown the door. I doubt if any Florida fans will disagree with me.

Yeah that would get him fired. No question.

The biggest thing in the present day is confidence. Florida has lost that swagger they had 10 years ago. Tennessee is even worse. Texas is suffering from the same malaise as well. So now, other teams are no longer scared of you. Talent is spread across all of your SEC teams. So perception says Florida is a better program than State but reality says in the last 8 years the teams are even or that State is actually better than Florida.
With Mullen at the helm at Florida, the Gators are poised to reclaim their higher status but it will not happen in a year or two. That is another reason I say it is a 4-5 year process for the Gators to be on top of the food chain.

Now the question remains, will Florida fans have enough patience to see it through? If yes, then from about 2022 on , you will be a powerhouse for years to come.

If the answer is No, then you will fall into the Tennessee trap, hire and fire a coach every 3-4 years and stay in perpetual mediocrity like UT has been for a decade now. That is why I say it is more than just talent. UT has supposedly had superior talent according to the recruiting rankings the last 10 years yet they have continually struggled in the W-L column. Coaching stability is a big factor in getting your program back to where it once was. Continually changing coaches definitely impedes the chance of that happening.
