By mileage of border shared with fellow SEC states:

1. Mississippi - 1,028 miles

2. Alabama - 976 miles

3. Georgia - 913 miles

4. Arkansas - 861 miles

5. Tennessee - 834 miles

6. Louisiana - 803 miles

7. Florida - 490 miles

8. Missouri - 447 miles

9. Kentucky - 405 miles

10. Texas - 317 miles

11. South Carolina - 281 miles


By number of SEC states bordered:

1. Tennessee - 6 states (Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia)

2. Arkansas - 5 states (Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas)

But what percentage of their total border length is shared with SEC states? I imagine we would jump up and Texas and Missouri would fall.

I don't mind NC. Lived in Wilmington for a while and loved it, actually.

Agreed, I love NC especially the Wilmington area and Charlotte is like the hidden gem of the South.
