Mullen gets a gold star for QB development, but what are his other strengths? He had two chances to beat Alabama, but instead of finding a way to win, he played not to lose and lost both games. If he takes that approach at UF, he'll be coaching in the OVC in a few years.

Literally had a top ten defense at MSU last year. And that's what everyone pretty much does against Alabama other than teams who regularly recruit top ten year in and year out.
I don't think it's an indictment on him that he can't get it done at a school that has less to offer than every single team in its division with its primary in state rival cheating (probably for his entire tenure).
To win ten games a year it means he has to beat at least two teams that recruits better and has more resources. It's also not like he played four teams last year that regularly recruit in the top ten.
There are seven receivers on Florida's roster that are ranked higher than MSU's best receiver last year, I doubt we're going to see the same team or approach to games as we have in the past. Mullen literally picked up a pair of 4 star QBs in his first two classes already. He never had a single one at MSU.
