Quality thread #117

After denying it for years, they have finally admitted it.

SHARP COUNTY, Ark. (KATV) —

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) says the reported sighting of a mountain lion in northern Arkansas has been confirmed.

The photo comes from a game camera set up on private land near the Sharp and Fulton county line. According to AGFC, it was taken in January and confirmed by biologists in May, making it the 14th confirmed sighting since 2010.

In November 2014, a deer hunter fatally shot a mountain lion in Bradley County, the first time one had been killed in Arkansas since 1975. DNA from the animal revealed it likely came from a mountain lion sighted in September 2014 in Marion County.

“The mountain lion traveled from Marion County to Bradley County in about six weeks before it was killed. That shows you how far a mountain lion can travel in a short period,” AGFC Large Carnivore Biologist Myron Means said.

I seen one in the bottoms of Atkins Arkansas probably 5-6 years ago.

Literally was running in front of my vehicle for almost 100 yards right down the road. It was massive.

They didn’t deny that there were mountain lions in Arkansas. They have always maintained that there isn’t a breeding population.

I’ve killed 3, just because agaf says there aren’t any laws prohibiting it
