Yeah, those two don't make much sense to me.

Corbin would be a fool to leave Vanderbilt. He has already proven that he can win a national championship and recruit elite talent year in and year out. With the culture that he has created at Vanderbilt, and his ability to recruit nationally, I just don't see it. I also don't think that he is a cultural fit at State.

Schloss, not as sure about. While he hasn't won it all yet, he has come one win shy of playing in the championship series multiple times. Does going to State make this any easier? I doubt it. Money and resources at TCU are good, but I can see the appeal of wanting to play in the SEC. The Big XII has plenty of good baseball, but it still isn't the SEC. Advantage State. I also recall a few years ago that Schloss felt at a disadvantage recruiting to a private school. I do not know whether this has gotten any better over the last few years. Hard to see him passing on the Texas job to take the State job a year later, but it would not shock me.

McDonnell actually makes the most sense of the three. I can definitely see the appeal of State over Louisville from a baseball standpoint, especially to a coach who is familiar with the SEC and the State of Mississippi. But, does he want to come in and be the instate rival of his buddy Bianco? On the plus side, he's already at an Adidas school, so he is accustomed to wearing hideous uniforms.

Honestly, I think State makes a good hire, even if it is not one of these three. If it is, kudos. If it is Corbin, frick off and convince me Vandy couldn't hire Schloss, McDonnell, or Brian O'Connor.

MSU has been wearing these Sunday unis

It's obviously McDonnell. Do they have to bleach their hair, wear puka shells and grow line-beards to convince y'all?

well, on the flip side, Bianco went to Ole Miss, a rival of his alma mater and previous coaching job. I tend to believe that rarely has much effect on where guys take jobs. Plenty of D-1 head coaches in all sports coach at schools that are rivals of their alma maters or previous coaching jobs. IMO, McDonnell would and should jump at the opportunity to coach at a program like State.

Maybe, just maybe, he hates the whistler as much as everyone else does.
