it requires the abolition of the state income tax in order to be replaced by the state sales tax
Or eliminate the income tax and replace it with nothing.
-Gas tax and federal money pays for roads.
-Property taxes and local sales taxes (and more federal money) pays for schools (and some local road improvements)
-Fines pay for state patrol
-Fines and restitution to the state pays for state prisons and state courts
What else we got?

Exactly.
We should be getting rid of taxes. Not creating ones.

The state sales tax is already 4%.
LINK
Why isn't 4% of every dollar that changes hands through retail sales enough money to run the business of the state?
That's in addition to 26 cents per gallon on every gallon of gas sold in the state (29 cents for diesel).
That's in addition to the fees they charge for every single vehicle registered in the state.
That's in addition to their cut of the tolls on I-85 Peach Pass (soon to be I-75 too).
That's in addition to fees for hunting licenses, fishing licenses, and professional licenses.
That's in addition to fees I don't even know about. Boat registration fees, trailer tags, I'm sure there's a hundred more.
What about all of those convenience fees they charge when you pay something online, like renew a fishing license? That's got to be millions of dollars.
