True, being a top 50 academic school makes it tougher on a coach if anything.
Bama is without question the best program to coach at in the SEC and top 3 IMO overall.
Few schools/alumni/community are as dedicated and none have their history. Bama has passed Notre Dame & likely Texas as the best job. ND admin puts too many limitations on its athletics in respect to academic rep & Texas fashions itself in a similar way while adding financial gains as a priority as well.
Bama football has embraced the reality of “student athlete” better than anyone. The recent report on % of 5 stars drafted first round is a remarkable and telling stat. The kids that are there to play after college are getting a huge advantage & the school provides a best in case education for the rest/majority that were never going to a large state school without their athletic prowess.
