In pretty much every recruiting classes, well over half of the 5* don’t live up the hype. Some don’t do anything at all. If your reasoning is correct

then most of the 5* players should be massive busts. But that’s not the case. Of the 31 5* players that have signed with Bama under Saban, 21 have been 1st or 2nd round picks.
