Jacob Coker, Greg McElroy, Matt Flynn, Matt Mauck, and Craig Krenzel all also won titles.
If your argument is that teams have to be ABLE to throw then ball, well then no shite. Jake Fromm can throw the ball. He can do so quite well, as he demonstrated several times.
You certainly don't need a superstar quarterback to win the title. That's been proven over and over and over again.

The main reason was they played against teams with a similar philosophy. I think more teams are going to the pass and that is why I am saying the future is the QBs. Do not have to be a superstar, but you better be able to carry the team with your arm when needed.
Look at the trends in the High School ranks. Seven on Sevens are becoming more important to recruiting than any recruiting service. The game will continue to protect the QBs and WR with rule changes, and good Coaches will take advantage of those rules. We have seen it in the Pros the last 10 years. This is the first year in a long time where there are more than 3 decent passing QBs in the SEC.
