I wouldn't be surprised if the bench press is dropped at some point. I doubt most conditioning programs include a ton of bench and probably low reps when they do.

Bench Press can be good but it can also cause a ton of problems with the scapula movement and upper body mobility.

Conditioning? No. But bench press is primarily for strength. I understand that you can build stamina with the bench by doing more reps, but it is still primarily used to build strength in the chest/arm area.
