I’ve looked at our composite 247 results from 2000 - 2018 composite class rankings versus our formal rival and our current or soon to be rival. (UT & LSU)
A&M / LSU / UT - #s in that order
Best Class: 5(2014); 1(2009); 1(2002)
Top 5: 1; 8; 6
Top 10: 2; 13; 13
Worst Class: 41(2007); 21(twice-last 2002); 25(2017)
Avg Class: 18.6; 8.4; 8.3
Avg class Rank since joining the SEC: 12.7; 7.1; 7.6
Takeaways and tidbits: SEC has been good for us. We’ve only had one class since 2000 that has been higher rated than LSU. Since 2012 - we’ve split in higher ranking with Texas (3-4) and one year they were 10 and we were 11.
Lastly, WRs really jack up the points for classes. MLB, OG, TE, FB, and C are lowest rated on average. So it’s important to check on position rankings.
Last year we finished 13 but this class is better in overall points and avg player rating.

Another F'd up thing on rankings. Unless you are running Summy's offense - you are likely to have 2/3 WR's on the field, and 2/3 corners and 1/2 ILB's
# of WR in 247 Top 100 - 19 - 19%
# of CB - 12 - 12%
# of ILB - 4 - 4%
So the point being is I'd rather get a good ILB and miss out on a receiver based on the % of starters.
3 receivers should account for 13.63% of your starters.
3 corners should be the same
2 ILB's should be 9% of your starters (2/22)
Hope this makes sense
