Nakobe Dean, 5-star ILB (MS)

If you want to see what an elite inside linebacker looks like on film, dial up Dean’s Hudl page.

The Horn Lake (Miss.) product and No. 1 ILB in the nation is the Tide’s top priority at a major position of need in the cycle. Dean has visited Tuscaloosa twice this spring and is very high on Alabama.

“Alabama is great,” Dean said. “I love the people there. And the coaches of course are amazing. They always reiterate to me when I come, even if they aren’t there, Coach (Nick) Saban will still be there. They’ll still win championships. That’s another thing I love about Alabama — how they’re all about their business.”

Along with the Tide, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Stanford, among others, are working hard to pull Dean out of the Magnolia State. Though Dean himself has said he will likely play in the SEC, people close to the situation have said Stanford is a school in the mix that has favor in the Dean family — something to keep an eye on.

The five-star ‘backer won’t make a decision until late in the process.

Pierce Quick, 5-star OT (AL)

Alabama has a great shot to land Quick, especially considering the nation’s No. 6 offensive tackle is already committed to the Tide.

Not only that, earlier this spring the Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) product shut down his recruitment in terms of taking visits elsewhere, although his commitment status to Alabama was never in question.

"I want to be the leader of this class and build the greatest class ever," Quick told BOL after his decision to stop taking visits. “This (class) is the main focus now. The talent in-state for this year’s class and next year’s class is unreal. I think that will help out Alabama’s class this year.”

Quick has been mentioned often by recruits that have committed to the Tide or that are being recruited by Alabama as a guy that they’re hearing from outside of the staff. The five-star tackle’s quarterback, Paul Tyson, committed to Alabama in April. And, as mentioned above, Quick is working on landing his close friend, five-star center Clay Webb.

Quick will be at The Opening Finals this summer in Frisco and you can bet he’ll have his recruiting cap on.
