It's a completely made up narrative. Saban has never once said anything to even hint that is true. In fact he's said the exact opposite.
Saban may retire in the next few years but there isn't some national title count he's specifically chasing.

Agree with everything you said but I have to think there is something inside Saban that wants to go out as the GOAT. He sits in Bryant's office everyday so you know feels the history and wants to knock him off the throne. He wants to to retire as the GOAT no question about it.
