Pay em what they can get. Supply & Demand

I am all for paying a coach, an assistant coach, the strength & conditioning coach, the equipment manager, and everybody else for what they are worth.
Results oriented is what should drive the market.
Today's coaches had better wear multiple hats: coach, recruiter, away from home parent, guidance counselor, disciplinarian and advisor.
However, instead of having just "bonuses" in their contracts they should also have "penalties" in their to balance things out. Don't get that 5 star signed, lose 10k, don't get that 4 star signed lose 5k, give up 300 yards passing to NAVY lose 50k, and so on.
