Ben Tillman despised South Carolina College and The Citadel. He saw them as privileged institutions for the planter aristocracy. Thus, he created Clemson to be exactly what USC wasn't. That dislike had nothing to do with football at the time.
I don't believe I've ever met Ben Tillman. I also don't believe I'll turn snowflake and let the actions of those from over a century ago dictate my happiness. You do whatever makes you miserable, though.

I'm perfectly fine bud, and that's even with cheering for a losing program. We're a pretty self-deprecating lot with a sense of humor. Y'all are the one's who, despite potentially becoming the best college football program in America in the next two weeks, seem more concerned with the state of South Carolina's athletic program and your holier-than-thou criticisms of our athletes and fans.

Oh look! Another example of that fine Clemson hypocrisy!
The very "coaches" that you were extolling the virtue of, The Scotts, were the same ones that came to Columbia and proceeded to negative recruit against us bc "USC (was) a racist institution and the proof (was) in those racist statues that USC (had) on the Statehouse Grounds. You don't want to play for racists." Seems they were using snowflake tactics before snowflake was even a thing...and using examples of things that happened over a century ago in order to do so.
Meanwhile, they made zero mention of Tillman Hall and who it honored and what that man stood for.
HYPOCRITES.
