Reports over on 247 said that during the open portions of practices this week, they have been working on getting the ball to the perimeter through screen passes and speed options. Also, a good amount of RPO work in which if the Run read isn't there, they roll Jake out. Looks like they're doing what they can to minimize the impact of that DL.

Well, let's hope it works. Bentley can make the throws rolling to his right but we've been running RPOs all season without a lot of success. If Bentley can stay healthy running the ball a little more, that might help.

Bottom line is that this bowl game is riding on our OLine while missing a key starter. That and Bentley not making any major mistakes.

We've been pushing the offense to speed-things-up all season but last I heard our avg time per play on offense had gone up by a couple of seconds. I know some of that they were blamming on delays in getting the play onto the field and that they're hoping that letting Bentley make a few more decisions and trying to get into tempo and get into a groove is gonna help but ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thats true, not arguing that at all. However, we both know what has been tried in practice under Roper was very rarely actually called on the field. Once the lights came on he went back to calling what he'd always called.
