Early Signing day observations

From a fan perspective, I really like early National Signing Day. I like it because it is ina boring time period when we are waiting on bowl games. I did notice a few things that I think may change as we go through future events.
1. I don’t think you see lower ranked guys become verbal commits to after the fist signing day. As it stands, everything is in the open and you can see where you are on the teams board. If you don’t get a NLI in December, you aren’t a priority and everyone knows.
2. With all the complaining, I could see it being moved up to the week after championship week.

By Championship week, do you mean the CFP Finals in January?
I don't see that because of the early enrollees.

No, I mean the conference championship games. It would just move up a couple of weeks.

Definitely don't see that. Need time for OVs after the Conference Championship games, and coaches need to be concentrating on the Conference Championship games as well and not recruiting.

I loved ESD this year, obviously because we kicked arse, but I can see it being moved to the end of summer, kids can OV during the summer break, coaching situations are stable then, probably better for both players and colleges
Of course you always have those players that really elevate physically and football wise between their Junior and Senior years HAS, but those guys would still have the February signing day.

Why can’t a kid just sign whenever he wants?
