Clemson is fully prepared to match whatever Arkansas wants to throw down for Venables.
Maybe unless you throw unprecedented money at him I guess. Is Arkansas willing to spend 3 million on a defensive coordinator? I imagine that's what it would take.
ETA: I guess a bigger question would be, "is having Morris and Venables at Arkansas as a proven combination WORTH throwing like 3 million down for a D coordinator?"
I would argue it is. Definitely. So we'll see.

6.5 million per year for Morris and Venables would be a half million dollar discount per year compared to what they reportedly offered for Gus. Sounds like the bargain of the century to me.

Me too.
But seriously, they'd have to throw down serious coin. Otherwise Clemson just gives the man a payraise.
Also, I still don't think that was an actionable offer that was given to Gus. Smoke and mirrors shite, if you ask me.

IF he actually came here (HUGE if), it wouldn't be about the money. The man could have been or soon will be a head coach somewhere making at least $4-5 million. He won't leave Clemson just because we offer $400-500k more.
IF he left, it would be because of something we don't know about. New challenge. Soured relationship with Dabo. Something.
Having said that, I don't think there's a chance in hell he comes.

I would think it’s Orlando, Foster or BV. He most likely being Orlando

Saban is pulling something like 11 million. Dabo supposedly 8.5. Fisher is getting 7.5 from aTm. Harbaugh 7.0 from Meatchicken. Have to believe that Gus and Meyer are getting 6.5-7 million.
If we can hire both HC and DC for less than 7 million per year, and decide not to, we aren't serious about competing at the highest levels.

Eh. Maybe, I reckon, but I would think that would be an underwhelming hire.
How much is dude making at Texas? I would think Arkansas is looking to make a splash hire at D Coordinator.

What a frickin waste of money.
The funny thing about Saban getting 11 million is if he told those folks at Alabama at the end of this year he was gonna retire unless they bumped him to 15, they'd frickin do it. Lol. He is worth every penny they pay him X 3.
I agree though. I look for Arkansas to spend somewhere around that 7 million figure they supposedly were gonna give Gus by the time this is finished. They'd better, anyways. Gotta keep up with the market.

Is there more than one Orlando? Didn't Herman hire Orlando from Houston as DC at Texass just last year? Did he only last a year there?

Harbaugh is a decent coach, but he's outclassed by Meyer. Meyer is one that everyone thinks of as a offensive coach, but he's had damn good defense at both Florida, and Ohio State.

Oh I agree. Dude is a good coach. He is also a buffoon. It won't be much longer and the Wolverine Nation will be sharpening their pitchforks. If they aren't already.

You are so full of it. You have no sources except for a television or newspaper. Stop the charade and trying to get efriends. The A Club does not know who Coach is looking at, only Coach Morris and the 2 possible people in the Foundation know and they aren't talking. Real Athletic Departments do not go around letting "acquaintances" know the deal.
The only true source in this whole deal would be Varaday and possibly Veteto and their Admin assistants, besides Coach Morris.

They are. Amani Toomer put Harbaugh on blast just this weekend, I think. Lots of folks openly calling for his head. I halfway expected Meatchicken to be on the carousel with us this year.
