Bad losses should always outweigh good wins

Except that it's almost always the opposite, good wins beat bad losses. I believe that's why LSU got in over USC in 2003 and UGA in 2007.

A bad loss can be written off as a fluke in some people's minds, you overlooked somebody or just had terrible breaks that day.

A good win generally assumes both teams are focused and ready, and the winner displayed they were better head-to-head vs another good team.

Oklahoma over Ohio State, Clemson over Auburn can be seen as good wins.

Couple of interesting things to note- Ohio State is on the losing end of a "good win", the Oklahoma game. Nobody seems to mention that.
Also, as an LSU fan, honestly, Alabama claiming us as their best win is pretty weak. LSU is a solid mid-teens team, I think we lose to everybody who won in the championships yesterday. If you count those games, I would say Penn St and Wisconsin are better wins than anything Alabama did this year on the field.

Heck, I'd almost say Wisconsin should still get a look, they were outclassed physically and still almost pulled the game out at the end.

Committee should, just my opinion, go with 1 team from each conference. The conference championships are set to determine the best team from each conference, Georgia emerged this year. There's no way of knowing if the top SEC teams would win every matchup, or if the Big 10 teams would, other than personal opinion. If they take Alabama then this smells like 2011, which is what caused the committee to take over in the first place.

My answer would be this- Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, and... UCF. They went undefeated, which is all they could do on the field. Ohio State and USC both had 2 losses, and Alabama didn't make it to the conference championship. So give Cinderella a chance, and let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin.

Anybody run some BCS-type numbers, to see who would be ahead?
