We need to start cheating

How did clemson start their run? Recruiting nationally with bag men.
We have more money, we have a bigger school, we have a bigger fan base.
1. No elite recruit in the state of sc should be going to a non flagship school in our state
2. We need to ante up and pay the big bucks for the big recruits.
That’s how you win championships.

We already cheat. How do you think we got Syvelle Newton,Garcia, Latti, Alshon, Clowney, etc. We have to get better at it. We've been lapped.

We cheat on a regional level, not a national level

Clowney left after 2013. Are you saying we haven't cheated in 4 years, or are we cheating for players like Rico Dowdle and Josh Vann?

I'm suggesting that our efforts haven't been fruitful and difference-making since Clowney and co were here. Clemson has made this into an art form, while perhaps we've been stagnant. Look at the blue-chippers instate like XT- we probably couldn't touch the package that he was offered.
I agree that we cannot rely solely on the Carolinas and a few players from Georgia in order to compete for a conference title. We have to widen that net. But this is a double-edged sword, because we are similar to Ole Miss historically. If Carolina pulled a five-star out of Miami without family ties to the program, the NCAA would be on our doorstep in a fortnight.
Essentially, improvement will have to be incremental within the network and on the field in order to truly compete.

For the record, I know how cynical I appear to be. I have no proof of anything below-board, nor do I have the ability to actually grease skids with a cash drop.
I just think college athletics is cesspool-filthy, and yes, we're a part of that already.

Pastides is in pretty good with the NCAA. You would think this would give us some breathing room, but apparently not.
I would like to see the coup that took place for us to land a 5* from Miami. At the same time if we could land 5* out of Atlanta or Charlotte that would be more plausible. Unfortunately we are still at the point where we are still dependent on under the radar talent, a few four stars, and some high ranking 3* players.

South Carolina will never be able to land a 5* player from Miami, heck even the State of FL.

Calm down, Buzz Killington.

I’d like to know how we allocate the money our entire Athletic program makes.
I feel like the difference between us and Clemson is we like to be a lot more “fair” where as they give the majority of it to football

Clemson was able to land four 5 star players all from out of state, more than any other team in the country, coming off a 6-7 year with a bowl loss to USF, with a first year coach, 20 years removed from even a conference title.
Never say never.

They get away with blatantly funneling $$ thru a "church" known as NewSpring and having players like XT tweet about "all dat $$ he gettin" with football and tiger emojis in the same tweet followed immediately by a tweet featuring him in front of his brand new Escalade that also mentions how football is "already payin off big time" yet we get penalized by the NCAA for giving discounted hotel rooms at The Whitney during recruit's trips to the University.

We self penalized ourselves for the Whitney shite and the NCAA just agreed to it

Here's the issue I have.
If we are this big flagship university, with more money than them, I guess more powerful boosters than them (I assume Bob Mcnair is worth more than any booster they have, frick the guy is worth more than T Boone Pickens) and we (our fans) Claim they are this irrelevant small school in a college town that no one can point on a map, why can't we do it too?
Wasn't Clowney driving around a new Dodge Charge when in college?

Ok folks. Idk where to put this post whether on this thread about cheating or the OC search thread because it pretty much goes hand in hand.
We are in need of a new OC and there is a coach out there who's 1 year cfb ban ends in 2018. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell we go after this guy but if we did, would you have a problem with Freezus being our next OC?

We had a saying when I was at The Citadel.
"If you're not cheating, you're not trying. If you get caught, you aren't trying hard enough."
The first time I heard it was from a Sr Cadet who'd already graduated from Ranger School (when they let cadets do such things). Mind you, this comes from a school with an Honor Code that reads, "A cadet does not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do." Now, the cheating part referred basically to academic matters but the point remains.
What the saying say was talking about was using creative means, within the rules or in the grey area(s) to turn a situation to your advantage. Basically, creative thinking within and outside of the box. Bending the rules to your favor.

This plus Whitneygate wasn't really about recruiting visits as much as it was about a TE, Saunders maybe?, living at the whitney and paying next to nothing to do so.
Or am I remembering that wrong?

Pretty sure there is a state limit of one disingenuous phony religious coach and Dabo already has that spot locked up. Sorry Freezus!
